Research

Cancer research is fed by disciplines from all horizons of knowledge: medicine and biology of course, but also mathematics and computer science, required to process the data obtained with high-throughput technologies, or physics that allows the development of sophisticated imaging equipment. Human and social sciences can help provide context for cancer, i.e. within a society, an economic system, history, population or in relation to the patient's own psychology.

Cancéropôle Île-de-France's role is to pool cancer research in the Paris region, manage the research network, enable interdisciplinary collaborations, and promote the development of transversal and innovative programmes.

L'arbre de la recherche en cancérologie

In order to structure the research carried out between the teams listed in the Cancéropôle Ile de France's network, three main areas of research have been identified :

  • Area 1 : Basic research
  • Area 2 : Clinical and translational research
  • Area 3 : Cancer and inequality

> Scientific strategy

> Research projects

Topics included in these three areas are related to each other within the SMSC. Working groups complete the system and allow transversal programmes to be established.

> Working groups

> Transversal projects

Cancéropôle Île-de-France's training mission supplements this programme strategy.
