We are pleased to announce the 8th International Congress on "The Biology of Stem Cells", which will be held November 27-28, 2008 in Paris.

The congress is organized by the "Institut de Biologie Intégrative" (IFR 83 - Université Pierre et Marie Curie, CNRS & INSERM).

Stem cell biology is one of the most exciting disciplines in life science nowadays. The major interest of stem cells for biology and regenerative medicine resides in their potentials to self-renew or to give rise to different cell types. The aim of this international meeting is to provide scientists with a high and updated level of knowledge on stem cell biology.

This year congress "The Biology of Stem Cells" will cover various aspects of the biology of stem cells. This two-days conference is organized around six sessions:

1. Embryonic stem cells and reprogramming,
2. Stem cells and development,
3. Stem cells and adult tissue homeostasis,
4. Stem cells and system biology,
5. Stem cells in non-vertebrates,
6. Stem cells in disease and regenerative medicine.
